Twos & Threes Create/Art & Music Mix

(16 months to age 3)

Thursdays 10:00 to 11:00

Music time where your child plays rhythm instruments and sings and dances along, a free choice play time with jumping in the foam blocks, giant sand box, blocks area, painting at the art easel and the art project time. They are really being creative and trying many different types of art materials!   Work with your child or just enjoy watching their smile as we do their familiar "Five little monkeys jumping on the bed" chant with our plush monkeys or as they play maracas or finger paint. 

Fall Session:

***Please note:  You are registering either for 4 weeks in September for $50.00 or 8 weeks (Sept. & Oct. for $99.00)  All materials are included. We paint every day except for costume day so remember that when choosing clothes to wear!  :)

Mixed Age or  Sibling Art Class

(for ages 2 to 12)  studends are divided into groups

This mixed age class is a great choice for siblings or for one child.  A parent,Grandparent or nanny will stay with the child or children and interact with them.

As your child learns to focus on their art, they learn to pay attention to detail and to stay focused on one thing for a longer and longer period of time. This skill is so useful for all subsequent learning.  They also learn to become more and more comfortable with various textures and art materials. 

They learn:

• that it is okay to get messy, you can fingerpaint, sculpt with clay, get glue on your fingers, etc. but you can wash your hands afterwards.

• to see themselves as creative.  They learn to take a blank canvas or paper and to fill it up with their ideas.  You will notice them using more and more of the space.
• to be confident.  When you see that you can take materials and mold them, color them, paint them, change them you see yourself as a developer.
• to work with other children in a social setting. They learn to take turns with the sand table toys and to wait to use the special paint roller, etc.
• to use their imagination. Yes, elephants can be green and trees can be purple. And pigs can fly.

Our model is for the parents to interact with them.  It becomes a place where you can focus on your child in a different way. You see how they interact with others and watch them learning new songs, trying new things and enjoying themselves. As a parent it's getting to watch up close their excitement over a new song, watching as they concertrate while painting a castle, playing a big drum and more.  They get older so quickly, pause this month and watch their eyes as they embrace the arts at Studio J.

This class is a lively mixture of music and art.  During our music circle we sing along with guitar and play rhythm instruments.  We dance in bubbles that float all over the room.  During free choice time we can paint at the easel, play in the sand box, play with blocks, clay and more.  We always do at least two art projects experimenting with clay, acrylic paint on canvas, wire, collage, fabric, water color, etc.

Thursdays in September and October  from 11:00 a.m. to Noon

$55.00 for 4 weeks includes all materials or pay for September & October for 8 weeks for $99.00.

You must prepay in order to have the materials ready for you. Please bring your ticket with you to the first class and remember we paint every week so please dress appropriately. 

Princess Dance Class

Mondays 11:30 a.m. to Noon  (Four weeks)

$29.00

Students choose a princess gown or tutu to wear each week. Girls get a make over which includes fairy dust on their cheeks, hair glitter and princess lip gloss.  Each week they learn Princess dances and basic dance positions to music. They will create a princess craft each week. The fourth week make sure to bring your camera as they perform their dances for you. :)
