Studio J’s Enrichment K

Is your child only in Kindergarten 1/2 day or 2 and 1/2 days per week! Add enrichment 1 or 2 mornings or afternoons with Science, Spanish, Art, Music & Keyboard.

Our Kindergarten enrichment program  weaves academic concepts such as number logic, reading, classifying, writing, and reasoning into fun-filled art, science,music, and movement activities. that your child is learning. YOUR CHILD will LEARN BY DOING . For example when we have Science activities we watch a short Science show, then explore, experiment and discover .  Music time includes playing rhythm instruments, introduction to keyboard and singing while accompanied by guitar. We also explore fun themes in depth throughout the year. For example in November we create Native American inspired drums and pottery, a rag rug like the pioneers made and we’ll learn Old English Calligraphy with a quill.

Many of your children are only in Kindergarten a half-day or two and a half days. Let us add an arts and foreign language component to their Kindergarten year.  This class is also a great experience for Homeschooled or online school students. 

Your two and one half hour day will include the following:

 Art enrichment each day with art training in watercolor, drawing, painting, clay and more.
 Introduction to Spanish language through songs, games and art. Our easy-to-follow and FUN curriculum teaches young children Spanish basics including numbers, colors, everyday words and phrases.  (Spanish is one time per week)
 Weekly movement class that incorporates academic concepts with movement.
 Introduction to the piano keyboard in groups.
 Weekly music program where we sing, play rhythm instruments & drums.
 Science program weekly.
 No field trips and fees. Studio J is where other programs come for their field trips!
 Guest speakers including a visit from a fire truck and an ice cream truck!!
 Registration fee of $50.00 covers the art materials including a program t shirt that the students will embellish.
 We provide a free snack. You’re welcome to sign up to bring in a birthday snack if you wish.

Enrichment K meets 2 days per week

Mon / Wed 9:00-11:30 or

Mon / Wed 12:45-3:15

Fun stations open like Sand table, art easel, art table activity, books, large foam blocks, Imaginative Play with dress up, cars and trucks area.

9:20 to 9:30      Story of the day & Reading Time

9:30 to 10:00    Art Enrichment Program

10:00 to 10:15   Snack

10:15 to 10:45    Mondays with "I Do Like Science" Instuctor  (Exciting Science Demo then hands on lab)

Wednesdays are Music, Keyboard and drums instrument instruction

10:45 to 11:15

Movement Class with Kinderdance Instructor (Mondays)

Spanish Language Class (Wednesdays)

11:15 to 11:30 Sharing and clean up

**Please note. The Kinderdance program is excellent. It is appropriate for boys and girls including large muscle activities that incorporate academic concepts. It is great fun!  Your child can attend one day only but will only do the special activities of that day.

Other Studio J Events

Studio J has been really busy this summer hosting Day Care Centers for various destinations and appearing at various festivals and art shows.  Jan just got back from a fantastic art show in Ripley West Virginia.  This time she learned to weave a basket, create a rag rug (still working on it), felting, bag printing and broom making!  Wow!  Quinn Kellog is at an Art Show in Upstate New York this weekend selling paintings. Our face painters have been painting at the zoo, private parties, various 4th of July events, ice cream parlours and more!!!! Add a face painter to your birthday party. We still have 4 spots left in July for Day Care Centers to join us at Studio J.  Call now.  Our Day Care friends bring the children to us for a field trip that is more of an adventure...  Sometimes they become artists, sometimes rock stars, pirates, princesses or knights and more!  

We have also been sending our staff to many special events all over! Studio J sent two princesses, a caricature artist, a balloon twisting clown and two face painters to the Grand Opening of Scioto Mile on July 7th. Look for us at the Bicnetennial Park on July 9th starting at 7:00 p.m. where we will host activities like Super Hero training, face painting and meet some heros.  Free

We'll be at Fountain Side sponsored by Sunny95 on July 13 with an Under the Sea Adventure. Come and create a seashell impression necklace or bracelet, help us to create a giant fish and more.  On August 10th we will create art with water. Both 11:30 to 1:30 at Bicentennial Park. All totally free!!!  Visit us downtown at the beautiful fountains that your children are sure to enjoy!!!  You will love it & it's close to home!

  A Visit to the Castle…….choose from one of 27 lovely gowns to wear or a Prince cape. Start with a makeover, search for missing treasure, enjoy Palace dancing, create a Castle Craft and more. Two beautiful Princess Friends  will visit!  Costume store open after.

Michael Jackson Dancin: We’re learning part of thriller and a Michael Jackson Medley.  Girl scouts can earn their dancercize patch through this destination.  Costume store open before and after with Michael Jackson style hats, jackets, and more!  Many priced at $5.00 and below.  Please note:  this is a special event prices at only $5.00 per person as it is part of a Girl Scout option .  Anyone can attend though. There will be an option to be part of a flash mob at a later date.  The evening times are great for teens and adults.  This is not just for kids. We really want to have you adults and teens participating also. 

 Hawaiian Luau: Today we go to Hawaii. We will play games,  learn the Hula, explode a volcanoe and more!

You'll be greeted with a Hawaiin Lei and get a makeover. Enjoy the music, dancing and the fun of a luau. Join in the fun by wearing your summer floral Hawaii look clothes!  Parents can join in the dancing fun at no extra charge!  All siblings over age the age of 18 months must be a paying participant.
